At Vikasana, we focus on empowering communities through sustainable development initiatives that address key social and economic challenges. Our work is centered around women empowerment, child rights, sustainable livelihoods, natural resource management, and strengthening community-based organizations.

With a people-first approach, we engage directly with local communities, fostering self-reliance, innovation, and long-term impact.

Areas of Intervention

Child Rights & Education

We work extensively to protect vulnerable children from exploitation and provide them with access to education and safe shelter.

  • 52+ infants rescued from unsafe conditions, with 25 legally adopted & 21 reunited with families

  • 1,259 children rescued from child marriage, labor, and abuse

  • Vikasana Junior Girls’ Home – A safe and nurturing environment for underprivileged girls

  • Child Helpline Support – Addressed 3,165+ cases in the past 5 years

Women Empowerment & Livelihood Promotion

Vikasana is committed to helping women achieve financial independence by supporting Self-Help Groups (SHGs), entrepreneurship, and microfinance initiatives. Our impact:

  • 3,000+ SHGs formed – Helping women transition from savings to enterprises

  • Women-led Governance – Facilitated 100% women-run Gram Panchayat in Gopalapura

  • Entrepreneurship Training – Partnered with EDII & NABARD to train 500+ rural women annually in small-scale businesses

  • Housing Support – Assisted Beedi workers and BPL families in constructing 1,500+ houses under government schemes

Natural Resource Management

We work with farmers and rural communities to promote sustainable practices that restore and preserve natural resources. Our key initiatives include:

  • Watershed Development – Restored 20,000+ hectares of dry land for agricultural use

  • Organic Farming – Facilitated organic certification in 6 villages

  • Seed Banks – Established Janadhanya Desi Seed Bank, preserving 120+ varieties of paddy and 60+ varieties of ragi and vegetables

  • Climate Resilience – Implementing eco-friendly and regenerative agricultural practices

Strengthening Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) & Self-Help Groups (SHGs)

We empower farmer collectives and small businesses by strengthening their market access and financial stability.

  • 42 FPOs supporting 45,000 farmers with ₹3.6 crore share capital

  • Financial linkages – Connected 1,600+ Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) to banking and credit services

  • Market Linkages – Partnered with Green Object Agro India & NABARD to help FPOs sell products competitively

Consultancy & Capacity Building

We provide research, training, and project implementation support to NGOs, government bodies, and corporate CSR programs. Our expertise includes:

  • Project planning & impact assessment

  • Community-based organization (CBO) development

  • Renewable energy & waste management training (MGIRED Partnership)

Hydroponic Vegetable Farm
  1. Child Adoption & Welfare – Jogula Dattu Seva Kendra provides care and adoption services for abandoned infants.

  2. GIZ Regenerative Agriculture – Training 1,500+ farmers in sustainable farming using SECU Farm App.

  3. The Three Zero Program – Addressing poverty, unemployment, and environmental sustainability.

  4. Azim Premji Foundation – Supporting land rights and livelihood security for small farmers.

  5. Vishwa Yuva Kendra (VYK) – Conducting gender equality and climate awareness programs for students.

  6. Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) – Training rural women in food processing, jute products, and agro-millet businesses.
